Our Intent
Our intent is to give our energy to things we believe in – like projects to solve real problems, to restore and regenerate, to accelerate circular economies and to build awareness around the situation as it is – without agenda or profit over everything mentality. We give a hoot and we want to work with others who do too.
At TBL Solutions our desire is to create viable and enduring solutions, to instigate and implement practical change and transformation initiatives for an enduring and restorative future. We see our role as facilitating positive change for the good of our home planet and it’s inhabitants.
We endeavour through our work to promote a healthy balance between profit, planet and people, thereby creating opportunities for inspiring tangible outcomes and to transform mindsets towards a passion for learning and a respect for real diversity.

What We Do
TBL Solutions has the no nonsense reputation for getting stuff done and solving complex problems.
We use a hybrid approach of proven portfolio management in addition to new-ways-of working such as Agile and Lean, but are trained and adaptable to use or create fit for purpose methods.

Since 2004 TBL Solutions has been involved in a number of successful long term initiatives including:
○ Establishment of Awapuni Resource Recovery Centre in Palmerston North. Winner of Green Ribbon award.
○ Options analysis and feasibility study for regional plastic recycling initiative at Manawatu Logistics Hub.
○ Developed patented SAS Glass Recycling System with seed funding from MBIE and collaboration with start-up incubator The Factory NZ.
○ Options analysis for Glass Packaging Forum on best glass recycling methods for New Zealand which resulted in separation at source for glass and separate glass bin.
○ Sale of carbon credits for Landfill Gas project to Austrian Government.
○ Options analysis and feasibility study for recycling options in Sri Lanka as part of Tsunami recovery programme.
○ Onsite community education and training and multilevel stakeholder engagement

TBL Solutions operates as a cooperative and Co-Lab where we share benefits and risks. TBL Solutions is an incubator and developer of sustainability ideas and solutions. Our Co-Lab is a collective of multi-disciplinary and practical experts with proven track record of design and delivery of solutions.
Meet Our Core Team
Andrew Slack
Andrew - director, consultant and coach - founded TBL Solutions in 2004. His experience is based on a strong foundation of financial and portfolio management in management consulting, technology and sustainability. Andrew’s sweet spot is in Strategy, Innovation and Portfolio Management. Andrew has a strong reputation of getting stuff done and solving gnarly problems. Andrew can weave a solution together.
Chris Pepper
Chris - director and specialist consultant - has deep experience based on a strong foundation of strategic planning and project management in infrastructure development. Proven independent strategic planning with a first principles approach over thirty years’ experience. Deep experience in understanding regulatory, Local Government, and Central Government processes. Chris has a focus on waste, water and resource recovery.
Hilary Baird
Hilary - director, consultant and coach - has experience based on a firm foundation of culture change and transformation across various industries. She has developed unique approaches to Agile aligned change and leadership coaching and, with her experience in sustainability, has seen the need for authentic alignment. She is a Change instigator with a passion for creating the right kind of change at all levels. Hilary has a reputation for building relationships, questioning narratives and shifting perspectives.
